Red square (HF39)

Old Castle

Inspiration can be found everywhere. Created in 1915, Kazimir Malevich's painting ‘Red Square’ heralded the advent of minimalism. The red surface, characterised by aggressive spontaneity, gives the impression of a boiling mass, expressing a new understanding of realism and the search for painterly forms for non-figurative representations. Beauty often lies in simplicity. Despite its traditional clinker, natural colours, the ‘Red Square’ clinker tile delights with its variety of vibrant carmine tones of timeless red.
